St Lawrence C of E (A) Junior School

Welcome from the

Head Teacher

Welcome to our school website.  I am very proud to be Headteacher of St Lawrence where I have been for over 10 years.  At St Lawrence we ensure that every child reaches their full potential and is prepared for their next stage of education by being confident, inquisitive and thoughtful.  We help them prepare for life.

Our supportive, professional and very capable staff ensure that every child settles well into the school, is listened to and heard and has a successful and rewarding time here.  We expect the very highest standards from your children, as you do, and we rely on our great support and communication with parents.  We have many clubs and activities that we encourage all children to participate in to enrich their lives further.  We hope this website will help you understand more about us and, as ever, please feel free to call the office to organise a visit.

Our children come first in everything we do.

We look forward to welcoming you.

Damian Tucker

Headteacher

At St Lawrence we aim to develop a love of learning in our pupils that will stay with them throughout their lives.

Achieving their very best is our aim for all children; they do this through the purposeful learning and engaging experiences we give them.  We strive for excellence in all that they accomplish and inspire them to work hard and overcome challenges in order to be successful.  Children are valued for who they are and their own individual achievements and progress.  By creating a strong partnership with parents, they are supported to reach their potential in both their school work and in their own personal development.

Believing in themselves and each other is at the heart of St Lawrence and we provide our children with a range of opportunities to explore the spiritual, moral, social and cultural aspects of life. The education of our children has its foundation in Christian beliefs and values, and children are taught about the Christian faith.  We welcome children of other faiths and expect all our pupils to learn, first hand, tolerance for the religious beliefs and observances of others.

Caring for themselves and others, children at St Lawrence develop their understanding of the world and the impact they can have on it, both locally and in a wider context. This is done in a safe, respectful and friendly environment. The school seeks to help children to be ready to take their place as active citizens and to accept and fulfil their responsibilities as they progress through their childhood and on into adulthood.

At St Lawrence, we aim to promote equality and tackle any form of discrimination.  We actively promote harmonious relations in all areas of school life and seek to remove any barriers to access, participation, progress, attainment and achievement.

Our children come first in everything we do.
